The Bachelorette: Will DeAnna and Jesse make it?

Published by jorty at 5:54 am under reality TV Edit This

Bachelorette DeAnna PappasThis week the biggest shocker in reality TV news was  DeAnna Pappas’ final rose  ceremony on the season finale of The Bachelorette.  Not that any one thought that single dad Jason Mesnik was the man of her dreams—believe me, he wasn’t the only one who noticed how she didn’t look at him they way she looked at,  say, Graham. Honestly, I really thought DeAnna was gonna pull a Womack, as in a Brad Womack-  her ex who left her jilted on the season finale of his show, The Bachelor 11 (Womack didn’t choose DeAnna’s rival, Jenni  Croft, either).

Yep. I thought DeAnna would get to the final rose ceremony and tell both Jason and Jesse that she liked them both a whole lot, but that she wasn’t falling in love with either one of them.  Everyone knew DeAnna  carried  a torch for hunky basketball player Graham Bunn, and when she sent him home late in the game (he was pretty aloof on their home town date) she cried and told him that she was letting go of the only man she was falling in love with.

Still, in the end, Jesse Csincsak, the wild and wacky professional snowboarder who showed up the first night in a multicolored tux and pink laced sneakers, was the man that DeAnna allowed to propose to her. I say “allowed” because she stopped poor Jason cold as he knelt down on one knee and pulled out his own ring.

So, was there really more of a love story playing out between Jesse and DeAnna than ABC let us see? I’m starting to think so. Nothing is better for ratings than a final rose shocker, and ABC pulled it off once again.

But amidst all this of hoopla, do DeAnna and Jesse stand a chance? They announced their wedding date of May 9, 2009. Stay tuned to find out if it actually ever happens.
