A Sad Weekend for the Entertainment Industry
This weekend marked the passing of two entertainment legends. Comedian Bernie Mac died on Saturday after complications from pneumonia. He was 50 years old. Mac was best known for his self-titled television show, which ran from 2001 to 2006 and he recently made headlines after being heckled at a Barack Obama fundraiser.
The legendary Isaac Hayes passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday. He was 65 years old. Hayes was best known for his 1971 Oscar winning song, the theme from “Shaft”. More recently, Hayes voiced the character of Chef on the comedy “South Park”. Hayes was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
Popcultured joins the world in mourning the loss of these two talented entertainers.
