So what’s with the promo spots Britney Spears recently shot for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards? The show’s lineup has been posted and there’s no sign that Brit will appear on this year’s show. But who WILL be on the sow?

Try Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, the cast of “High School Musical”, Rhianna, Pink, and Lindsay Lohan. Hmmm…. you be the judge of what type of audience they are going for.

And in anticipation of the upcoming 25^th anniversary of the VMA’s, expect a little nostalgic look back. We’re a far cry from the early days—remember Madonna’s “shocking” performance of “Like a Virgin” on the MTV stage back in 1984?

But with all the Britney Spears hoopla of recent years, I wouldn’t discount her making a surprise appearance at this year’s show. You never know.
