Britney Spears made quite the comeback Sunday night at MTV’s Video Music Awards ceremony. From her taped opening skit with “Superbad” actor Jonah Hill, to her opening announcement for the VMA show, to her awards sweep—she won all 3 awards she was nominated for- it was an entirely different experience from last year’s embarrassing performance.

Looking trim and classy in a sparkly, silver dress, Spears thanked God and her family as she collected awards for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year, for her song “Piece of Me”.

Surprisingly, this is the first time Spears has ever won a Video Music Award, despite being nominated numerous times in the past. Her manager, Larry Rudolph, sat next to her in the audience.
