Is The View Getting Too Political?

ABC’s daytime chat fest, The View, has long been popular for its forum of 4 women (and sometimes 5 when head-honcho Barbara Walters makes an appearance) dishing on the daily news. The current lineup of  Whoopie Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherry Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasslebeck is an interesting one. It’s basically 3 comics and a Republican.

With the financial crisis and the presidential election on the horizon, these women are at no loss for words—or should I say, shouts. Lately, it is just the 3 Obama supporters (Whoopie, Joy and Sherry) arguing with the lone McCain supporter (Elisabeth). There is so much yelling you can barely hear what any of them are saying. Feeling under attack, Elisabeth Hasslebeck gets downright belligerent. Don’t these women know friends just shouldn’t talk politics?

I think I liked The View better when they talked about celebrity gossip!
