McDonald’s must be doing alright. Back in the day (meaning the 1970’s) I remember seeing tons of McDonald’s commercials on TV.  All the time. I knew all of the McDonaldland characters—Ronald McDonald, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Captain Cook, The Fry Kids, Birdie the Early Bird, Mayor McCheese.

These days, I rarely see a Mickey D’s ad and if I do it usually just has Ronald in it. The poor kids of today barely know who the rest of the gang is! And do they even know the ingredients in a Big Mac? I do, and I can sing it in a song:

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun
