Popcultured Classic Episode: Samantha’s Thanksgiving to Remember

The classic TV sitcom Bewitched” was all about the holidays. The show featured numerous Christmas and Halloween episodes. It was also one of the few shows I can think of that had a Thanksgiving episode!

In the classic 1967 episode, “Samantha’s Thanksgiving to Remember”, Samantha (played by Elizabeth Montgomery) is busy cooking Thanksgiving dinner when her bumbly Aunt Clara tries to help. Instead, she transports the entire family back to 1620—with the Pilgrims. In a hilarious twist, nosy neighbor Gladys Kravitz gets transported back along with them.

While helping the Pilgrims out (because what else can he do?) Darrin gets accused of using witchcraft when he lights a fire with matches. He then goes on trial- and Samantha has to defend him!  Aunt Clara figures out the correct spell to get them all home,  just in time to enjoy their own Thanksgiving dinner.

A few other classic shows have memorable Thanksgiving episodes as well. Stay tuned as I detail them during the month of November.

Hello , it’s Thanksgiving Day! I’m enjoying my extra day off, and I am planning to make something fun that’ll probably involve a bike ride and seeing something new in Selma I haven’t seen yet.
